For a few years, Hot Spring spas were made with a decorative tile inlay. We have seen a couple of spas where the white, rubbery grout between these tiles has turned black at the waterline. We contacted Hot Spring's technical help and this is what they told us to do:
- Mix chlorine concentrate granules with water and stir to dissolve.
- Next mix in baking soda to make a thick paste.
- Apply a thick layer of paste to the stained areas.
- Cover with plastic wrap to keep the paste moist.
- Let it set overnight.
- The next day clean the area.
This should help remove or lighten the stain. If this does not help, the last option is to remove the grout and apply new grout. If you have any questions, call us at 620-227-6867 or 1-800-477-9916.
